Claret Civil Engineering Ltd operates across a range of sectors including clean water, water recycling, pipeline, industrial and major infrastructure projects. Building on our experienced multidisciplinary team, we offer turnkey Civil Engineering and construction solutions from pre-project feasibility studies to complete Civil Engineering and construction solutions, inclusive of all aspects of project and health and safety management.
Our partners include Anglian Water and @one Alliance, who we work with closely on numerous projects. We have a client base that includes Anglian Water, Affinity Water, Balfour Beatty, Lotus, Highways England, Cadent, British Sugar, Victory House, East of England Co-Op and large Civil Engineering contractors. Andy is one of the founding members of Claret Civil Engineering Ltd from 1994, having previously worked in the Civil Engineering and the building sector for both private contractors and local government.
He now retains the managing director key role on the Board of Directors within the business. His focus is on bringing in new innovations, developing the apprenticeship programme and always looking for the next good idea.
In his spare time, he enjoys attending the Goodwood Revival and Chelsea Flower show, whilst also owning a vineyard which has produced some amazing fizz!
Mark lives and breathes Civil Engineering. He joined Claret Civil Engineering over 25 years ago after having managed major schemes for a local contractor.
As a contracts director, Mark has overseen tremendous growth in the company’s operations over the years, in both the main contracts and emergency response areas of the business.
In his spare time, Mark loves sports and anything adventurous to do with the outdoors. He is also responsible for the discovery of the lost village of Worlingham Parva in Suffolk during excavation works on a bypass scheme.
Tim joined Claret 15 years ago having spent 20 years working as a draughtsman and surveyor in the construction industry.
He was appointed a director in 2015 and works closely on all building related schemes, as well as developing the CCTV and ground penetrating radar divisions. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Building.
In his spare time, he enjoys watching football and following his three sons’ sporting achievements.
Phil began his career in health and safety as part of a facilities management role within the civil service 24 years ago.
Since then, he became a Claret Civil Engineering director in 2015. It has been Phil’s passion to ensure an accident and incident free environment. In more recent years, Phil has been supporting the mental health awareness aspects of our working environment, alongside heading up our apprenticeship program.
Outside of work, Phil enjoys his family life within a peaceful country setting. Additionally, he ensures he finds time to continue being a keen film enthusiast, as well as playing, watching and supporting football, alongside other sports.
Kevin joined the Civil Engineering industry after leaving school back in 1993, joining Claret Civil Engineering as a subcontractor in 1996 and finally joining the Claret team directly in 1999.
Kevin worked his way through the ranks from operative / ganger / supervisor throughout the different sectors of Civil Engineering to finally become operations director in 2009.
Kevin has managed / directed many different sectors throughout his years at Claret, starting in the Anglian Water Emergency sector to developing other avenues for Claret within the gas / housing associations / private sector / Affinity Water and Water Industry Registration Schemes (WIRS).
In his spare time, Kevin is a keen CrossFit member, as well as following his love for sport in general, watching football, rugby, and golf.
Family life is also a key factor to Kevin, as well socialising with friends.
Scott Weston is one of our newest contracts managers who has been brought in to build and grow our existing lining teams. He really is one of the nicest guys in the trenchless world and has a great ability to bring together like-minded individuals to achieve excellence.
Scott brings over 25 years of lining experience and knowledge to our business and has a real passion for cured in place pipelining (CIPP). His drive, enthusiasm and his knowledge of material capabilities will enhance our teams’ abilities to deliver bigger and better projects for Claret Civil Engineering.
Scott has delivered some of the largest lining projects throughout the UK for various water authorities over his career, with his ability to bring suppliers and people together to achieve success. He is much respected by his peers and clients for his commitment, understanding of projects and his can-do attitude to deliver time and time again.
His passions are his family and his love of Liverpool Football Club. Equally as important is his love of innovation within the world of trenchless technology. He is constantly looking for that next idea that will benefit the world he surrounds himself with.
With his attitude and knowledge, we can be confident that he will play a key role for Claret Civil Engineering for many years to come.
Jeremy joined Claret Civil Engineering in April 2022 as a contracts Manager bringing 26 years of experience. Jeremy has worked on a variety of projects from small works, to major highway developments, gas turbine power stations and onshore wind turbines. More recently, Jeremy has spent most of his time managing the Anglian Water Frameworks.
In his spare time Jeremy shoots arrows as a keen archer, enjoys running and spending time with his family along with playing the odd hand of poker or two. He has an interest in Anglian Saxon history and his ancestors can be traced back to Icelandic Vikings.
Mat has been involved in Civil Engineering for over 20 years, his career began working on site and progressing to Site Supervisor. In 2017 he decided to take the step into Site Management and from there to a Project Manager, Mat’s most recent progression is to Contracts Manager for all our major schemes.
His spare time is spent with family and fortunately some of his children do share one of his passions for angling so he does get to enjoy both together!
Mat recently delivered a pipes and fittings demonstration to a group of college students, he shared his experiences and stories with them, presented some talks on different pipes and fittings, which he says was one of the most rewarding days of his career so far “a great feeling giving a little back to our next generation of civil engineers”

Kevin entered the Civil Engineering industry in the 1990s. He has a quantity surveying background, gained across a wide range of Civil Engineering disciplines, with specific experience in the water, power and telecommunications utility sectors.
He joined us 20 years ago and was appointed as commercial director of the company in 2015. Kevin plays a leading role in securing and maintaining key framework relationships with some of our largest clients.
In his free time, you will find Kevin leading a youth basketball team at a club programme in Ipswich.
